Oooooh what the heck?
Okay so I was at school and I’m in 5th grade (11) and I was with all my friends eating lunch.then all the suddenly I got all tingly and blood started flowing out.I was so confused. My mom never got me any supplies or showed me how to use them so yeah.I told most the others about it and almost every detail like stickiness itchiness and the whole process. I showed them my underwear(we were close)and they asked me if I had a pad. I said no and they started planning me one. JM had a ton so she gave me one and showed me how to put it on and unwrap it and every thing. I had no pads at home and have dance that night. We also have a big field trip on Thursday and we’re going swimming on Thursday that’s an adventure for sure

This morning was the most horrific morning I’ve ever had. When I woke up today around 8am, I felt really uncomfortable around near my knickers. I could feel wetness. At first I thought ‘Did I wet myself?!’ But when I checked my bed sheets, no wetness or signs were there. So I was really scared. I went to the toilet and pulled down my onesie, then my knickers. 'OMG’ I said to myself. There was this really dark brownish colour spreaded around my knickers. It coverd up the whole thing. I was scared because I thought it was diahhea but when I rolled up some tissue paper and wiped under, the whole tissue was covered in blood. My mouth was wide open and I was horrified. It was my period. I wasn’t even prepared for it. I always thought it comes when you turn 13 but no. So I knew what to do as me and my mum had a convo about it years ago, just so I knew what to do when I got it. I slipped one of my mums 'Always’ pads and put it on. I was really scared because my mum wasn’t at home, she was at work. Plus my dad was sleeping because he does night shifts so I was basically home alone. All day, every one hour I would change my pad. I must’ve used over 10 pads today. But I was getting really panicked so i texted my mum. My mum replied 1 hour later saying 'I’m so proud you remembered what to do. Just keep checking on it every now and then. If you get any stomach aches, head aches or any other pain, take the painkillers in my room’. After that text I felt so much better because I knew what to do. I also looked online for tips which really cooled me off. But what I find stange is that I didn’t get any pain today..when will I get it? Is it normal not to have any pain when your on it? Well that’s it guys, my first day on my period 😁 Good luck to the girls so who are preparing for it, make sure you do because I didn’t and it came unexpectedly

My first period wasn’t too bad
It was a Friday morning and I was getting ready for school. I got changed and then went to the toilet. When I pulled down my pants, I noticed a dark patch. I didn’t think anything of it so I did my business. But when I wiped my self, I noticed the tissue was a pinky-reddish colour. My first thought was, “Oh no!”. My mum was in the kitchen at the time (the bathroom and kitchen are next to each other) so I just came straight out with it. “Mum…I think I’ve started. The tissue is pinkish but I’m not sure” She told me put a pad in anyway and take some with me to school.
So I was in third period/Lesson (drama) and I could feel something wet down below. I asked my teacher if I could go to the toilet so I went and I took my bag with me, making the excuse that I didn’t trust the people in my class with my bag. I went into the cubicle and pulled my skirt and pants down and the pad was all red. I slowly peeled it off and wiped down below. The tissue was definitely red this time so I put another pad on and went back to class.
Later that day when I was going home, me and my friends stopped off at the park. We were all laughing, joking and messing around when I could feel a tingle in my vagina like something was dripping out. I took no notice and just carried on playing. When I got home, I went straight to the toilet and there it was again. So this time, I was sure it was my period.
If you’re reading this and you’ve just started or you’re worried about starting, don’t! It’s really nothing to worry about. My advice would be when it comes don’t panic! Just tell your mum or dad. Buy pads before you’ve started so you’re prepared. I think it’s easier to use pads when you first start but the really thick ones are quite uncomfortable so you will probably end up switching to tampons. If you start at school and you have nothing on you, bundle up a load of tissue temporarily and ask your friends if they have any pads. I’m sure they’ll understand as most of them may already be experiencing their periods. (Sorry this was kinda long but I hope this helps!)

the day I most dreaded came on the day I most loved
So this is embarrassing.
I was 12 and we were practising for the end of year six assembly and I had to go to the bathroom. The girl next to me came with me cause she had to go too. So I was sitting on the toilet and as I already knew about periods and was expecting it anyway, I looked down and saw blood everywhere. I panicked and cleaned myself up and was convinced by myself I had cut myself with toilet paper, but I put some toilet paper in my undies and went back into the hall just in case . Luckily we only had ten mins left until we could go home. When I got home I ran to the toilet too check on things and sure enough, the blood had doubled. We had horse riding lessons after school so I was smart(ish) and changed my undies and put more toilet paper in my undies. Only after horse riding class I told my mum what happened ‘i cut my self on toilet paper’ she believed me and told me to wash up and go to bed. The next day was school and so I had to tell her. I was crying and scared so my mum told my twin sister to say she got hers three weeks before (she actually did get hers. I tried school that day but was mortified someone would find out so my mum took me home. This happened in November 2014

Worst.Timing.Ever
IT was exactly 2 months and 3 days after my 13th birthday. It was at school and we had a free period since our teacher didn’t show up to class, so me and a few other girls were just talking. I felt a slight wetness, but shrugged it off thinking it was just extra discharge. We kept talking about music, then it shifted to truth or dare and ended up on the subject of periods. I felt really uneasy near my stomach but again just forgot about it. The bell rang and it was time for lunch so I got up to go to the bathroom and wash my hands. Instead I headed for the stall to wipe my underwear down so I wouldn’t feel the wetness. I pulled my skirt down and was sitting down and there it was lo and behold my period. It was a HUGE patch of brown-red stuff that was all gooey and clumped together and it covered the crotch of my undies. I wiped and saw blood. I wiped my underwear down, and rushed to class cursing myself for not bringing anything along with me. My friend understood what was happening and slipped a pad into my pocket and i rushed to the bathroom and changed into it.
I got picked up early and the next 5 days i had to follow the indian tradition of sitting down eating fatty foods and not doing anything. Worst thing EVER. So all u girls out there who just got it. Don’t freak out just be proud that ur a woman and you can expect some higher respect from family members. GOOOOOD LUCK! P.s the first year you get it, it might be irregular. I skipped mine for a month and got it regular so thank mother nature i was prepared. BAI

12 and have had my first period
Hey guys 👋 it all started at my friends house, it was really awkward and I had no idea what to do! I didn’t tell my friend bcs things would just go really awkward. So I waited for my mum to come pick me up. My big sisister was in the front and she’s 15, but the most embarrassing thing is she had her period when she was 14 and I’m 12! I waited until we got home so I could get some privacy but I couldn’t build up the courage to tell my mum. I went to the toilet again and my underwear had red spots all over them! I threw them into the washing up basket and thought it would be the best way for my mum to find out. In the end we had a nice chat and told me it’s natural and so on, we’ve never been more closer to each other before!!! That’s my story xx

Okay we’ll it happend dyer school when I came home I was having stomach problems and I was like, I had too many cookies! :( so I kept going to the bathroom with no problems at all until I excised myself to use the bathroom AGAIN and I have had yellowish and white discharge but I thought I was literally peeing myself and was way too lazy to research. Anyways when I wiped I had blood.. FROM MY BUTT!? I was so scared I thought I was having diarrhea and was about to die cause it was a little more than usual so I calmed myself and I checked my front area and I knew it. It was my period. I tiptoed to my mom and got her away from my dad cause it’s awkward.. An I told her and she was the best help ever and she told me to take a bath and cool down and obviously she was prepared cause she gave me mini pads for smaller underwears and I felt comforted and I giggled at the fact that it wasn’t so bad. the next day was dreadful I was scared to use the toilet cause I dislike the sight of blood so I cried but I was comforted and that day I got to stay home cause of stomach pain. I hope you enjoyed my story :)

So annoying
why can’t there be like a specific date set for a girl to get her period? that way she would be fckin prepared. Anyway. It was 2 months and like a week after my 13th birthday, and the day before i had noticed some brownish discharge but shrugged it off not thinking much about it. The next day I felt wetter than usual down “there” and got all skirmish but again just shrugged it off. I was talking to a friend about “that” and decided to go to the bathroom and wipe my undies down so it wouldn’t feel wierd. I went to the bathroom and lo and behold there it was, covering the full of my crotch and several clumps of gah never mind. I freaked out but my friend came to the rescue and understood what had happened and slipped me a pad. I went home early that day and had to go thru the tradition of indians when a girl gets her first period or “matures”. It wasn’t bad. I got candy and money so it was nice =D
